If you've never been to Mentone, you're in for a real treat. It's nestled in the mountains of northeastern Alabama. More of a "village" than a town or city with quaint shops and a cozy atmosphere, it offers a true escape from the every day hustle and bustle of our busy lives. Many who recall how the town of Gatlinburg, TN was about 30 or 40 years ago say that Mentone is a lot like that.
Avid snow skiers flock to Cloudmont Resort during the winter months. Couples travel from miles and miles away to this romantic spot for a wedding &/or honeymoon. Plus, quite a few families have second homes there and spend their vacations enjoying a peaceful get away. Cabins are available for rent as are rooms in the bed and breakfast style hotels in the area.
