My name is Phronsa, and I've been a scrapaholic for over 10 years. I love the adventure of scrapbooking, meeting new scrapping friends, and best of all -- SCRAPLIFTING! Without idea books and lusting over other people's creativity, I would have some UGLY pages (and NO ONE wants UGLY pages)!
About 11 years ago, one of my dearest friends hooked me after inviting me to a Creative Memories Class held at her house. Before then, I treasured my precious pictures by displaying them in those forbidden yucky magnetic page albums. Merciful Heavens! Can you just imagine? Well, now I know better, so the first thing I did was carefully remove all those priceless jewels from those illicit albums and sorted them into photo boxes where most of them will most likely remain till my dying day. I am a TERRIBLY SLOW scrapbooker, but I love this hobby more than I love my Victoria's Secret Bras (and I love them a WHOLE LOT)!
I am 35 years old, have been married for 16 years, and have 3 gorgeous sons that consume my life. At the ages of 12, 6, and 3, my boys manage to keep my world full of mayhem and chaos, but my life would be so empty without them. Christopher, Caleb, & Colby devour my heart and soul. My husband, Jackie and our oldest son, Christopher have been extremely involved in Boy Scouts for several years now and have tried desperately to drag me into their adventures. Although I am an official Committee Member of the Boy Scouts, I am just NOT an outdoorsy, sleeping in tents on the ground, sitting around a campfire kind of lady. I am all about PINK frilly girlie things. Only God knows why He gave me mud-loving, critter-fiddling, loud-screeching BOYS!
Besides scrapbooking and adoring my sons, these are a few of my favorite things:
A huge variety of MUSIC (can't live without it)!
The color PINK!
eBaying (buying and selling)!
I'm a computer ADDICT!
Ice Cream is a MUST in my diet, preferrably Mayfields Turtle Tracks, Chocolate Chip Cookie Dough, or Pistachio Almond (haha, did someone say "diet"?)
I'm IN LOVE with those frozen or iced coffee drinks!
Did I mention the color PINK?
Being near waterfalls, beaches, the river, creeks - flowing water is the most peaceful sound on Earth to me!
Pedicure spas are DA-BOMB! I love to have pretty toenails, and I love to set mine off with a pretty little toe ring!
I'm not that great with meal-fixing, but I love to bake goodies, make finger foods, party dishes, and desserts.
Have I mentioned my favorite color? PINK!
Spending time with my Girlfriends!
My time and relationships with my friends and family are highly valuable to me. For years, I thrived on entertaining, having parties and get-togethers, preparing for gatherings, and organizing my immediate family's annual Family Reunion. Unfortunately, various illnesses have overwhelmed my life off and on for the past 7 years now. My inability to cope with what my body won't let me do has completely changed my life and my activities in a sense. I do what I can do when I can do it, but I miss the "old me" so very much.
I have been involved in co-organizing our annual Notorious Scrapaholic Retreat from the beginning. This upcoming 2009 Retreat will be our 4th one. A LOT of hard work, love, and care goes into each and every one of our Retreats. Me and my fellow co-organizer, Paulette, who also happens to be my very best friend, are SO EXCITED to have Karen join us again this year in organizing this wonderful, exciting, fun-filled weekend. The 3 of us LOVE to host, and we LOVE to GIVE. It is our absolute hope, joy, and pleasure to provide you with the best, most memorable scrapbooking retreat you'll ever attend.
Oh, and one more thing about me .... I LOVE PINK!!
Teri Killough & Tracy Perry of Simply Scrappin' Retreats
A weekend of around 40 hours of nonstop cropping with other avid scrappers is always a treat. Enjoying that time with a gorgeous view of a huge lake behind the house you’re staying in makes for an even better time. Cap off the good company and scenic panorama with delicious home cooked meals and freshly baked treats and you’ve got the makings of a Simply Scrappin’ Retreat!
Teri Killough and Tracy Perry are two very special ladies with a tremendous gift of hospitality. They are proof that scrapbooking is not just a hobby; it’s a life changing pastime. People come and go in our lives every day, but some friendships are built on truly solid foundations like family photo albums and totes filled with paper and embellishments.
